Betty Neal Callahan Bollinger, age 86, passed away October 31, 2017 at Country House in Greenville, Delaware. Born in Miami, Florida, she resided in several locations in Florida until she moved to Delaware in 2006.

Betty Neal graduated from Miami Senior High School and the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. After college she was a Home Economist with Florida Power and Light and after marriage, served as an elementary school substitute teacher.

Betty Neal had a keen interest in genealogy and was a long-time member of the D.A.R. She also enjoyed, and was skilled at, painting landscapes and folk arts and crafts and was a member of the Center Place art group in Brandon, Florida.

Betty Neal married Newton H. Bollinger, Jr. 64 years ago in Coconut Grove, Florida, and is survived by him, as well as daughter Ann B. Hamilton, son-in-law David L. Hamilton, granddaughter Elizabeth L. Hamilton, and brother Dr. G. S. Callahan, Jr. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas H. Bollinger, and parents Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Callahan, Sr.

She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Betty Neal’s name to the charity of your choice.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, November 4 at 3 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1108 N. Adams St., Wilmington, DE 19801. Burial will take place privately.
