Age 100, of Wilmington passed on peacefully in Saint Francis Hospital on Wednesday December 6, 2017 in the cradling comfort of her daughter Lorraine Sload and granddaughter Tara Hough.

She was born in Modena, PA to renowned artist & painter, Alex B. Imhoff, and Cora A. (Wilson) Imhoff. She lived in Reading, PA, attended Reading High School, worked at the Berky Mill, and later married orchestra-leader George King Sload ("Arch") of Coatesville, PA. They moved to Delaware where she then worked at the old Naamans Tea House and a private hospital. Long-time residents of The Ardens in Wilmington, they raised two children, Ronald William, and Lorraine, in whose home in Brandywine Hundred she lived in recent years.

Her love for home, yardwork, family, friends, White Crystal Beach in MD, Sunday drives through Amish Country, and her beloved hills of Reading, PA were her life's greatest joys.

Amelia was preceded in death by her 5 siblings; Alex, Catherine (Moore), John, Karl and Albert Imhoff; husband, George; son, Ronald, and great-grandson Daniel. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Sload; granddaughters, Tara Hough and Donna (Sload) Buckley, all of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Leeanne Buckley of Wilmington and Jill Thogersen of Oxford, PA; her great-great grandchildren, Josh, Ella, Lucas, Nathan and Lillian of Oxford, and a host of Nieces and Nephews and greats.

A viewing will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Interment will take place in Chester Bethel Cemetery, 2619 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 immediately following the Mass.
