Nancy Sulecki Carver, 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 10, 2017, after a long battle with Leukemia.
Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who enjoyed nothing more than to spend her time surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. Whether at the beach, coaching and managing softball or cheering on her Yankees she was an amazing woman full of joy, love and competitive spirit! She was a combination of a kindness few are capable of and a toughness few can replicate. Her passing leaves the earth colder and the heavens brighter. Nancy retired from the News Journal after many years of faithful service and as with everywhere she went she made many lasting friendships and fond memories. She then went to work at Longwood Gardens, where she enjoyed meeting new people and being surrounded by the beauty of the gardens.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard Carver; children, Allyson McGonigle Leach (Matthew); Michael McGonigle (Victoria); James Carver (Kellie); and, Whitney Carver; grandchildren, Seth Keen; Kaleigh Carver-Fern; Julia Kreck; Domenique May; Brianna McGonigle; Elizabeth Carver; Samantha Carver; Koraline McGonigle; Emma Elizabeth Burns; and Grace Carver; step-children, Monica Kreck (Jim); Richard “Roc” Carver (Jisha); and, William Carver; honorary daughter, Kimberly Sobkow (Rob), siblings, Theresa; Marie; Edward; Rosemarie; Patricia; John; Donna; and, Michele, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Theresa and Fred Sulecki; brothers, Frederick, Raymond and Francis; and niece, Anna.
A visitation will be held from 10 - 11 AM followed by a celebration of Nancy’s life and beautiful spirit at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 901 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE 19720. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to donate to the Leukemia Research Society of Delaware,
