Edward A. Bryden, III, 92 of Wilmington, DE passed away on December 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bryden attended Cornell University and the University of New Mexico. He was Vice President of Scholz Homes and then went on to work for Haveg /Ametek before retiring. Edward was a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed golf, woodworking and was a lifetime member of the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Bryden; he is survived by his children, John Kirby Bryden, Michael M. Bryden (Cynthia), Edward A. Bryden, IV (Anne), Susan B. Holdreith (Matthew) and Thomas W. Bryden (Kelly); grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel (Alexa), Nicholas, Erin, Molly, J. Maxfield, Jeffrey, and Edward A, V, (Teddy)
A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 19, from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington 19803. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning 10:30 am at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd. Wilmington, DE 19810. Burial will follow in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery Greenville, DE 19807. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edward’s name to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter, www.alz.org.
