Theresa Anne Toomey, 85, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2018 at Regency Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and attended St. Elizabeth’s High School, Seton Hall University and Villanova University, obtaining multiple degrees in education. She was a former Benedictine nun.

Throughout her life, she worked in education, touching countless lives as a teacher and principal, before retiring from Colonial School District as the Educational Diagnostician. During retirement, she spent time volunteering at Wilmington Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and William F. Toomey, her brother William F. Toomey, Jr. (Patricia), her sisters Margaret Jerominski (John), Anne (Nancy) Lampert, and nephew, Matthew Lampert. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Karl Lampert, nieces Ann Jerominski, Claire Jerominski, Rebecca Garner (William), Katherine Lampert and Melissa Toomey, as well as great nephews Owen, Will and Flynn. She was a devoted aunt and friend and will be missed by the people who loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE, where friends may visit starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE, immediately following the mass.
