James A. Folk, Jr., age 81 of Wilmington, died on January 8, 2018. Jim was born in Newark to James A., Sr. and Doris Folk.

Jim served in the National Guard for 8 ½ years as a mechanic. He also worked for Porter Chevrolet for 23 years as a mechanic and service manager. After retiring from Porter, he was a truck driver for Leasway Transportation.

Jim was a faithful member of Newark Baptist Church where he held various positions. He loved cars and being outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and boating.

He is predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Harold Folk and Eileen Dickinson. Jim is survived by his wife Sunny Folk; children Jeff P. Folk (Nancy) and Heather Mergenthaler (Paul); grandchildren Jason P., Elizabeth, and Jack Folk and Jacob, Ben, and Olivia Mergenthaler; siblings Robert Folk (Barbara), Elva Schoen, Ethel Koloff, Marjorie Long, Harvey Folk (Pat), his aunt and nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 12:30-1:30 with a celebration of Jim’s life at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Newark Baptist Church, 6011 Telegraph Rd. Elkton MD, with fellowship at the church after the service.
