William L. Andrews, age 98, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

He was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Caroline and Benjamin Andrews, formerly of Dagsboro and Selbyville. Bill was married to Mary Hayes Eastman and had five children: Caroline, Douglas, Scott, William and Marc. He had eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 1948 with a B.S. in chemistry, and was a member of the Delaware National Guard.

Later, he married Barbra Andrews and moved to Florida where he lived for several years. Bill later returned to Wilmington and lived with his son Scott in the house that he had purchased for the family in 1950.

Bill worked at the DuPont Co. for 38 years. He was supervisor of safety, security, fire protection, and ground maintenance. He was on the board for the Delaware Safety Council and was president of the Delaware Safety Engineers Club. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the All Rodney Patrol.

Bill passed away peacefully at home with friends and family by his side. Funeral services will be private. A reception will be announced in the future.
