Carlos Alberto Granado Crespo, Sr., age 66, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Ponce, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

He was the son of the late Jorge Granado, and Annie Crespo. He graduated from Ponce HS, then studied Chemistry at Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Carlos then proudly service his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He worked in refinery industry. After retiring he put his skills to work as a handyman and was known as a “Jack of All Trades”. His one true love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Garcia; 3 children, Omar Granados (Patty), Carlos Granados, Jr., (Delhaila) and Annmarie Alvarez (Jose); 9 grandchildren, Natasha Suarez, Sujeylee Alvarez, Desiree Granados, Isaac Granados, Jose Alvarez Jr., Joel Alvarez, Jeremiah Alvarez, Isabella Granados and Jalyann Alvarez. Carlos is also preceded in death by his brother, Jorge Granado.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January, 15, from 9-11am, at McCrery and Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where, at 11 am, there will be military honors, followed by a funeral service.
