NANCY RUTH ECHEVERRIA

South Jersey singer Nancy Ruth Echeverria passed away on January 22, 2018. Ms. Echeverria was 71. She was born as Nancy Ruth Ciresi on June 10, 1946 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Ruth Naomi Haig, a five-time Miss America pageant contestant and War-World II veteran Anthony Ciresi. She retired as a support staffer from Kennedy University Hospital (now know as Jefferson Health) in Cherry Hill after roughly 30 years of service in 2011. She was a founding member of the South Jersey Moorestown Singers, entertaining countless communities for nearly 45 years. In addition, she sang at weddings and acted in dinner theatre productions. She also served as a soloist with the Hamid Morton Circus, touring throughout much of the U.S. as well as performing in such countries as Germany, Holland, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Ireland, and Luxembourg.
She enjoyed bible study, swimming, and the shore. Her friendly nature and graceful resolve were infectious and so will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She sometimes said, “One day we can talk together and make yesterdays be happy todays.” And one day we will soon again.
Surviving are her two sons, Darius and Edrik Echeverria; one daughter, Nivana Takvorian; four grandchildren, Cienna, Samara, Ezra, and Zoe; sister Joan Kirby; nephew Ron Kirby; niece Melody Kirby; and great nephew Kyle Kirby. Service and burial will be private.
