ROBERT E. QUINN, SR.

Robert E. Quinn Sr. age 82 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at his home Friday, July 13, 2018.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Thomas and Rita (Nolan) Quinn.

Bob enjoyed a long and accomplished career in marine construction, as Vice President and Partner of Geo. W. Rogers Construction. Bob shaped the maritime landscape of the tristate area, building such projects as the World Trade Center, Verrazano Bridge, Battery Park, and Ellis Island.
In his retirement in Delaware, Bob lived his life happily, with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Bob made his mark on this earth as a very kind and gentle person. Bob had been an active parishioner and attended daily mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church. Bob also was an avid volunteer at the Ministry of Caring, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Moles professional organization.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Ellen (Curry) Quinn; children, Bob Jr of Alpharetta GA., Beth Donnelly (Clark), David (Mike Hovendick), both of Wilmington, DE; his grandchildren, Jack Donnelly, Caitlin Quinn, Sarah Donnelly, and Trey Quinn. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Michael Quinn (Noreen) and his sister-in-law, Rosemarie Quinn. He was an involved uncle and cousin to the Long Island Quinn’s, Brooklyn Quinn’s, Connecticut Quinn’s, and Brooklyn Nolan’s.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Quinn was predeceased by his siblings, Tommy and Peter (Bernadette), along with his sweet daughter-in-law, Melinda Martin Quinn and nephew Jimmy Quinn.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 6-8pm, and Thursday morning, July 19 at 9-10am from McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Magdalen, 7 Sharpley Rd., Wilmington, DE, on Thursday, July 19 at 10:30am, and interment to follow at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine.
