Formerly of Wilmington-Walter Thomas Granett, Jr. age 90, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Montgomery, AL.
He was born in New York City, NY to the late Walter and Elisabeth Granett. Walter proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1945 to 1952 as a Hospital Corpsman. He graduated as an X-Ray Technician from N.Y. Polytech Medical School. Walter worked for Lockheed Martin and Atlantic Aviation as an X-Ray Technician. Walter served on the board of Woodland Height’s and Arundel’s Homeowners Assoc. He was an avid baseball fan, but more importantly a lifelong NY Yankee’s fan. Walter was a longtime member of the Woodland Heights Bowling League.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Granett; step-children, Rick Nigri and Linda Cunningham. He is survived by his 4 children, Thomas Walter Granett of Gainesville, FL, Peter Granett of Dania, FL, Theresa Granett of Dania, FL and Barbara Hardwick (Russell) of Auburn, Al and 5 grandsons, Russell Hardwick, Jr. (Andrea), Jeffrey Hardwick, Daniel Walter Hardwick, Derrick Granett and Dax Granett.
