IMGOENE LIVINGSTON

Imogene C. Livingston Aged 90, died November 27, 2009, in Wilmington, DE after a brief illness. Born June 16, 1919, in Blue Springs, MS, Jean Livingston was a graduate of Blue Mountain College (MS). After college graduation, she was a teacher and homemaker. Mrs. Livingston was the Founding Teacher of Bible Study for Today, which began as a home Bible study in 1967. This grew into studies in many neighborhoods in the Wilmington/Newark area. Later the studies were combined into two large groups, one meting in Brandywine Valley Baptist Church in North Wilmington and the other in Berea Presbyterian Church and later in Ebenezer Methodist Church in the Newark area. She was a member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church from its founding. Mrs. Livingston was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, H. Stanley Livingston, Senior Engineering Consultant with the DuPont Company. Mrs. Livingston is survived by her son, David and his wife Pam of Greenwood Village, CO and her daughter, Stanna Galbraith and husband Tom, of Durango, CO; grandsons, Daniel Meyers and his wife Erica of Portland, OR, Jesse Livingston of Denver, CO, and Andrew Livingston of Ypsilanti, MI; and her great granddaughters, Julia and Sophia Meyers of Portland, OR. A memorial celebration of Jean Livingston’s life will be held at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mount Lebanon Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803 on Wednesday, December 2, at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Livingston will be buried in her family’s plot at Fairfield, MS.
