DONALD R. HANBY, SR.
Donald R. Hanby, Sr.
Age 72, of New Castle, previously of The Cedars, died on December 26, 2009. Don worked for Freihofer’s Baking Co., Gregg’s Bus Service, Dupont Willow Bank Plant, Ametek, and MBNA. His hobbies were NASCAR, Hess collectibles, and horse racing.
Don was predeceased by his parents, John W. and Etta Hanby, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and George Brown, 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Bob, Ken and Millie Hanby.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Minna (Elaine), his sons, Donald Jr. and his wife, Joann, and Thomas W. and his wife, Laura. 5 grandchildren, Neal, Nicole, Stephanie, Kellie, and Thomas, Jr., a sister, Barbara and her husband, Jim Bracken, and sister-in-law, Doris Hanby.
A special Thank You from the Hanby family to the staff of the Weston Adult Daycare, Manor Care Nursing Home, Pike Creek, and Heartland Hospice for their help and support.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 29th from 6-8 pm at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road. A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 30th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
