KEVIN DAVENPORT

Kevin Davenport Age 50, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital on January 4, 2010. Kevin was born and raised in Pennsville, NJ. After graduating from Pennsville High School he served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force working on fighter jets. Kevin then spent 20 years as a mechanic for United Airlines in Philadelphia, earning a Mechanic of the Year award for the entire UAL company, before retiring to run his own handyman business. With a generous heart, willing to help anybody, Kevin was also a regular blood and platelet donor. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, kayaking and especially spending time with his two dogs and two cats. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Wendy White; children Brad and Brooke Davenport of Pennsville; siblings Kerry Davenport and wife Beth of Kennett Square, PA, Barrie Davenport and wife Chris of Edgewater, MD, Roy Davenport, Jr. and wife Doris of Bloomington, IL, Cindy Drozdov and husband Butch of Mays Landing, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Kevin will also be missed by his in-laws Donald and Marta White, and Charles, Tara and Elly White of Glen Mills, PA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 5 pm at the McCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202, S. of Silverside Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19803. Friends are invited to greet the family after 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kevin may be sent to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
