VIOLET BOULDEN
Violet R. Boulden, age 98, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at home with family by her side.
Violet was born in Marydell, MD to the late Thomas and Fanny Winward and is predeceased by her 11 siblings. She was a homemaker and devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. As a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church for over 70 years, she was a very active member of the Women’s Society and helped with Church dinners, bakes sales, and bazaars. Violet joyfully volunteered in the Masonic Home gift shop for the last 9 years. She loved nature, especially her garden and birds, and all the simple things of life.
Violet was the wife of the late George Boulden with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She will be dearly missed by her 2 daughters, Nancie Owens and her husband, Jack; and Sandra Conway and her husband, Richard; 3 grandchildren, Dawn McCreary, Christie Edelson, and Shaun Conway; and 4 great-grandchildren, Cory and Lindsey McCreary and Lexi Joshua Edelson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am, Monday, February 22 at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church on Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, where relatives and friends may call from 10:30-11:30am. Interment in the adjoining churchyard will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 850 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
