FLORENCE MULLARKEY

Florence D. Mullarkey “Diddy” Florence Mullarkey, age 92, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Kentmere Nursing Care Center. Diddy was a lifetime resident of Wilmington. The daughter of the late James J. and Fannie (Brank) Olivere, She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Beacom College. She was a loving mother and homemaker whose happiest moments were spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and was an avid card player. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Mullarkey; son, Michael A. Mullarkey; and brother, James J. Olivere, Jr. She is survived by her three children, John J. Mullarkey and his wife, Susie, Mary Ann Santora and her husband, Bill, and Kevin S. Mullarkey and his wife, Marie; 7 grandchildren, Suzanne Iovanne (Rick), John P. Mullarkey, Terrence and Mary Elizabeth Santora, and Conor, Caitlin, and Patrick Mullarkey; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Iovanne and Rachael Santora; and sister, Marie Sansone of Wilmington, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 901 N. DuPont St., Wilmington, DE 19805. Friends are invited to greet the family at church from 9-10:45 am. Entombment will follow the Mass at Cathedral Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staffs of Kentmere and Vitas Hospice for their kind, compassionate care.
