GLADYS A. KENNEDY
Gladys A. Kennedy
Age 83, of New Castle, passed away on February 25 2010. She was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Clarence and Carrie McAbee Armstrong. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of Ceasar Rodney Chapter # 8 O.E.S. where she served as Worthy Matron in 1961 and Grand Marshal of the Grand Chapter of Delaware from 1963-1964. Her husband of 41 years, Howard J. Kennedy died in 1985.
Gladys is survived by her son, Robert C. Kennedy and his wife, Lee of Townsend, 1 brother, Clarence E. Armstrong, Jr. and his wife Norma of Townsend; sister-in-law, Lucy Kennedy of New Castle; 2 grandchildren, Todd Kennedy (Janet) and Jill Kennedy (Rene’); 5 great grandchildren, Ronnie, Sharon, Becca, Sara, and Taylor. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Greenwell.
Family and friends may call at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road on Sunday from 1-3 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park. Interment will be in the adjoining memorial park.
